Is it possible to fit a bench seat to a HZ Sandman with an automatic on the floor ? I have seen bench seats that gave a slight cutout in the center.

If not you can always change to a column auto? Also depending on rego authorites you may need to have the bench inspected as you're adding seating cpacity above what's stated on the compliance plate?

I agree John, however sandmans were factory buckets usually, so they may be stamped 2 seaters??

Yes, that is what I expected as I am pretty sure my comp. plates stipulate 2. As johnperth suggested though other panelvans had the option of bench seats. I guess I will just have to talk to a engineer. Ouch!

Thanks for your help

Sounds like a good option, thanks for the suggestion cloudy.

I will probably end up talking to a engineer first though, as my main goal of the bench seat is to increase space so as I can have an extra friend come with. Child seat probably would'nt a

Hi HZ sandman.

I realize this is an old post, but just wondering how you went with the centre seat. I also have an original HZ sandman and I really don't want to cut the original metal bracket to put a bench seat in... Did you end up sorting something
