Ok folks...what is best product to preserve vinyl....apart from so called ARMorall type products ?
I here the Armorall product actually dries out vinyl.

I use leather dressing (Ge-wy brand)on my dash etc (used for saddles etc), it nourishes the vinyl, looks great, but does attract dust. The fumes from armourall etc are supposed to be very bad for you I've been told.

Vaseline.
Used to be used for "patent leather" shoe dressing (plastic shoes).....works great and reduces the likelihood of cracking and shrinking.
GEE-WY??? must be the neatsfoot oil in it :-)

I asked this exact question of an auto-upholsterer and his answer was baby oil. He also reckoned that Armourall et al actually dries out the vinyl.

Hmm - looks like Armorall is out then. The VX, can have that. So the HQ will need baby oil on those doeskin seats....maybe cream boot polish too so I hear. Wow....better dry the seats well b4 I head out west !

armour-all contains alcohol which dries out the "plastisizers" in vinyl, thus cracking it eventually
