"I got troubles boss" my motor just won't run right, it idles a few secs and then juumps up a rev and back to normal and up again. i think this could be many things but if anyone has been there and got a sugestion it would be great.
it's in a hj tonner for the those who care.

I would be checking the gasket under the carb. Also check any hoses for leaks around the carb as well.

Yes, sounds like an air leak somewhere. If its a quadrajet try jiggling the primary throttle shaft up and down as its idling and see if it affects idle - sometimes the shaft wears the holes in the throttle body (become elongated) and you get funny idle sy

i looked pritty hard for leaks everywere but no sign of anything nor wisling. the throttle arm is no isue because it's a new carb but the power valve might be an isue. if it has low vac it won't stay closed and may be making it rev alittle here and there.

i check for vacume leaks and none, and no wisle. the carb is new so the throtle arm is good. but i need to know for sure if the power valve is staying shut to rule it out. cause if it is opening alittle until the vacime builds up and closes again that wou

I once had a similar problem thinking it was the carby. Since you have now checked that (as it was more likely - still you can spray carb cleaner or even water with a spray bottle all round the carb whilst running and see if idle is affected - be careful
