G'day, Got a question. Has anyone ever encountered the problem of sagging front crossmembers in the kingswoods, whereby the wheel alignment cannot be done properly as there is no room left for shims behind the wishbones. A wheel aligner told me I had to pull the motor and spread the chassis before I could get it done again. Anyone done this before, is it difficult? Any ideas appreciated.
Cheers Kingswoody

Hi Guys.
Most of the time it is due to sagged lower inner bushes. They 'sag' off-centre which places the lower arm out too far & then you can't get the upper arm shimmed far enough out the get the required camber.
Replace the lower bushes

25 years ago Dad took a creek crossing too fast up near Cloncurry in the Torana... bottomed out and hit the crossmember. For the next 15 years, the alignment could only go "so-close", as there wasn't enough adjustment left. We just put up wit

Have the same problem in my HX GTS. Panel beaters say that it is quite common especially models fitted with V8 engines. I saw my local panel beater bend a subframe on another car when I was there. He suggested to take the engine out and bring the car to h
