HT kingswood ute engine upgrade 186/253.

Just bought my first ht ute with a standard holden 186 motor and 5 speed celica g/box. Want to swap the 186 for a 253 or 308 and replace g/box with a holden 4-speed, Can anybody tell me if the 253 and 308 will bolt staight in with no fuss and if their are any probs with this and or recomendations or hints for this project.. cheers

My HT sedan went from 186 with three on the tree to Chev 307 and Powerglide then to 253 and Trimatic. Biggest dramas are the exhaust, tailshaft, and throttle linkage. Easiest way round the exhaust is to get V8 extractors and a Y-piece and patch it in to t
