Hi was looking at purchasing a Chev 327 with T400 trans attached. Would this be able to slot straight in or would I have to make some modifications to the vehicle. Originally the car had a 186 in it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Sunny.
Engine will go straght in, if it has the HK/T/G type sump & pick-up.
The TH400 will hit the floor reinforcement beam near the back of the box & you will have to fabricate a crossmember & tailshaft.
Why not get a TH3

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling the motor would fit, but wasn't too sure about the T400. The motor was advertised for sale with the T400 attached. I agree about the T350, I would prefer this as it would mean less adapting. Thanks

My HK runs a SBC with TH400. Floor required some modification- box section was removed from the trans tunnel and replaced on the inside to retain floor strength. Adaptor crossmember was sourced from Castlemaine Rod Shop. Bit of buggering around but worth
