Help wanted> Have a standard VL that is missing really badly on idle and in low revs. It has had a new dizzy module and evrything checks out alright in the computer. The problem is intermittent which makes it even harder to diagnose. Anyone got any special things to check?

Very common on these cars. Make sure you get the dizzy bearing changed too or the new one will go pretty quickly.

First check the easy things like spark plug leads are on tight and also check the condition of the plugs....If you need new leads I sell them cheaper than anyone.

If not a fuel problem (many VL's suffer from this due to owner allowing tank to run very low or nearly dry), then check the rubber boot that
