Dear Gary or Dr Terry and others,
Was wondering what your advice would be on my idea to put an EFI VN V8 into my tonner. I am wondering if the Tonners 2.78 Salsibury diff will be able to handle the EFI motor n T5 gearbox?? or Is a 3.08 salsibury a better option and why??
cheers Pos1976

HEAPS of these have been done, and it's a simple conversion, but probably the 2nd most difficult of these conversions is using the T5 (hardest is using a Getrag). However with a T5 it's still not difficult. A 2.78 is no weaker than a 3.08 as they're basic

I've used 3.36 with the same conversion as you mention, and am very happy with that ratio.
Cheers, Steve.

Hi Guys.
To answer the temp & oil gauge sender question. I'll assume you're referring to gauges.
The temp gauge sender is easy, just use the original One-Tonner sender (correct one for your model) in place of the Commodore sender, it's the same thre |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

I used to have a WB 1-tonner, and the dude that bought it put a VN V8 and Getrag into it. He had to absolutely butcher the floor to make it fit, plus the stick was back too far. He also had to get an electronic speedo. I'd use a Supra box if you want a 5- |

I've got a T5 in my HZ, but I'm using one from a 6cyl Falcon EA. Has a shorter input shaft, so the shaft doesn't go back as far. Still need to do some cutting of the floor though. On the oil presure senders, as Terry says, use a T piece and run both sende |

Has anyone installed a Tremec TKO or 3550 into a HX-HZ ? What are the traps, ie: cutting the floor ?

i have not done it, but the Tremecs have 2 or 3 different shifter positions, one of them should be fairly close to where you want it.
