I have run into a bit of a problem. I got the T400 crossmember off Glen from this site. (thanks by the way :-) )
When i went to fit it though the only difference was where the holes are in the centre. This is no good as the rubber mount on the T700 box isn't on the extension housing but right behind the pan and there isn't enough room for the crossmember, basically the only way to fit it would be to leave the rubber mount out which defeats the purpose entirely. Do i need a different extension housing for the back of the t700 box or do i just make a crossmember from scratch and if i do is this legal in WA. Any info appreciated.

Try a crossmember off an early WB Statesman or late HZ one. These had TH350 boxes, which had the rubber mount close to where you need it. (TH350, V8 powerglide, Saginaw and Muncie are all close to the same mounting position). You might need to do some min

I have a T700 in my hx what i did to make it fit was use a trimatic cross member and moved it foward and drilled new holes in the chasie to hold it, i also welded some plates on to the cross member just to make sure it was tuff enough.

Thanks for that but the problem i have is the rubber mount is right behind the pan and the pan is about a inch lower. Also were the rubber mount is presently you physically can't get the gearbox high enough to fit the crossmember. If you email me at
