Hello Ladies and Gents, I'm now at the airconditioning stage of my HQ ute, what im wondering is would it be possible to install a unit say behind the dash and not have it sitting under the dash.

Certainly is Owen. The integrated units from HQ - WB (WB Stato ones are different) will bolt in. However, good luck finding an HQ dashpad with the centre vent in it...you may have to convert yours.

If you sacrificed the glovebox liner& the LHS plunum air inlet. you may be able to fit "hangon" evaporator in that space and then run ducting to the dash vents, and use flexable hose to carry the refrigerant. Just a thought

WB dash won't fit. Ducting is a bit different also. Make sure you get the switch off the dash, the big vent things that hang down, the control cables, the relays etc off the left side fender, of course the heater box. There are 2 nuts on the inside you ha
