Hi all, I have a 1975 HJ Sandman for sale. I'm pretty sure it is genuine; I'm not exactly a buff but I have looked into it and everything seems kosher. The mate I bought it from was positive as to its authenticity and he IS a buff.

Anyway, there is a complicating factor to the sale: the van is at Ayers Rock! Long story short: ended up in Hobart unexpectedly and had to leave van at the rock, where I'd been working for some time. I haven't had a chance to fetch it but intend to do so in November.

However, if you fancy a trip to the Red Centre to make the buy and drive it home, price is $1500 as is/where is. I am prepared to drive it/truck it to the buyer if they are prepared to pay fuel/freight costs. Approximate extra cost to Melbourne is $800, Sydney/Brisbane|/Perth a bit more, Adelaide/Darwin a bit less. If I drive it back to Hobart will go via Adelaide and Melbourne and can show to prospective buyers en route, but fuel costs will still be added on if you want to buy.

I have a strong desire to sell to a Sandman lover, who will restore this great old car to its former glory and help it live forever. However, it has to be worth my while. Prepared to negotiate, within reason.

For the record, it is registered until January (TAS rego), is mechanically sound, and goes well. Body has some rust, but not beyond redemption. It's a great restoration project if you are up for it.
