hi peoples i just bought a 1 tonner and the id tags are missing but all the numbers are there on the rego papers is there anyone out there that could restamp me new id tags with these numbers on them cheer

contact the RTA , did you ask the previous owner where they are , the car may have been re-birthed or stolen and another cars number plates put on.

Hi Dude, I think what you want done is not legal. But then again who knows. Try to find a werecked one and transfer every thing over....

I used have a ute with no plates. It is illegal to create new plates. The only trouble you'll have is if you ever have to change the engine. You'll need to get it inspected by RTA. I never had too many dramas with rego.

Hi Guys.

The only 2 numbers that appear on your rego papers are the engine no.(stamped on the block)& the chassis no. (stamped on the chassis near the steering box.

Some RTA 'Nazis' may have an issue with no compliance plate, but it only contains

Dont quote me on this , but I am pretty sure that in NSW you dont have to have the compliance plates if the vehicle is over 5 years old

I just got an email from a guy named shane, he is in the progress of fixing his dream car (he is led to believe it is a bathurst ht). "Unfortunately he has lost his vin plates.

Does/did anyone actually find out whether you can authenticate and replace

You cannot get VIN/Compliance/body plates remade for Australian cars.

There are some unethical mobs in the US who will redo older US GM plates - supposedly only with the same details, but with the right persuasion there'd be the potential for tonnes of

The topic of missing plates is asked about quite often. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the only 2 numbers that the RTA & the Police record or even concern themselves with, are the chassis number (stamped into the chassis or body) & the
