hi,
i have an unregistered fc holden. i am putting in a 186 in it. what will i need to do to get it registered / rwc in Victoria, ( engineer certificate)
etc.

From my initial enquiry the following will need to be done
Demister for front windows
Upgrade braking system (MINIMUM HR specs disc and rear slave cyl size etc, including split system style (HQ) seperate circuits for front and rear with pressure warning
1962 EK Wagon - Chev SBC & T700, 1962 EK Sedan - Chev SBC & T700,EK Ute - V6 Buick & 5 speed = LOOKING FOR A 1962 EK VAN

Not knocking you VC I am sure you are correct but what does 2 speed wipers and rear view mirror and demister have to do with the upgrade?? Braking yes, a more powerful car maybe seatbelts, (which I feel you should have anyway no matter how old the car) bu

I think the Authority look at it the same way as if u put a later motor in an old car u have to use the later model pollution gear.

So if u put a 186 in an older car, u have to have the same basic features that the HR Poverty-Pack (no options) h

I argued exactly the same thing, the HR definately didnt have a brake pressure warning switch, however the powers that be have decreed, that "in order to make the vechile comply with regulation" it had to be fitted, I dont make the rules, just passing on
