Hello,
I was just wondering how do you adjust the idle on a Holley 700 DP. The car feels as if its ideling about 100 rpm to low at the moment. Is it just a matter of turning the adjustment screw (has like a spring around it) on the passenger side of the carb ? Is this turned clockwise or anticlockwise to increase revs ?
Any help or further suggestions on the procedure to follow would be much appreciated, since I have never worked on a Holley before.

Yeah, the idle stop screw with the spring around it is the one. Just have the motor running and tighten the screw to increase the rpm to what you want.
You may have to adjust the idle mixture screws aswell once you have reset idle speed. They are the

Thanks for the detailed reply mate, at the moment the car is runnind a little rough at idle does this mean it could ne running a little lean ? If I increase the revs a little by gently pressing the accelerator it sounds a lot better. This is why I want

Could be a bit of both, idle mixture and too low idle speed. Just have to have a play - if its rough now you have nothing to loose. You should really check timing, points gap, plugs etc first as they all have an input toward a good idle. Even a badly bloc

take it to a dyno tuner. for $50 he will tune it properly, with a sniffer etc, and usually give you a power run to check it. takes 20 minutes

If its only idle mixture you may get away with $50 ??? although being a Holley It will be jetted wrong - guarantee it ! I think from personal experience they need rejetting every hour or so :)
I had mine dyno`d 2 weeks ago, rejet/tune $150, dyno time $
