G'day,

I've found a really nice 2003 XC Barina for sale, the only thing is, it doesn't have air-conditioning factory fitted. I haven't purchased it yet. I don't need air-con just now, but it would be handy over summer here in QLD...

Has anyone had experience with getting air-conditioning installed in such a vehicle? I rung a Holden dealer and they said Holden don't actually stock the air-con unit as a part. It's either factory fitted or not at all.

I'm just wondering if I would be able to get an aftermarket unit installed, or maybe buy a unit from a wrecker and get that installed?

If anyone can let me know if there is anyway to install it, that would be great!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi qwerty.

The dealer is basically correct.

These cars are made in Europe, where most cars don't have a/cond & the system is best installed at the factory.

Don't buy it, buy one that already has air.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
