Hi guys, i have just had to replace my 4th oxygen sensor in my '93 Holden VR Commodore, and i am wondering if anyone on here knows of any possible reasons they are burning out so often on me?
I have had several mechanics look at it, they even pulled the computer out to see if it had any faults but he couldnt find anything wrong with it.
So does anyone know what could be causing these problems?
Thanks in advance.
-Cheers

Running leaded fuel or metallic fuel additives will coat the sensors and cause them to fail.

How do you know they are burnt out? Just the fault code or something else?

I had the same problem with my VS. After replacing the sensors twice, got the same fault code. I bit the bullet and took it to a holden dealer, they fixed the problem for 40 bucks (something to do with a cable???) Apparently its not an uncommon problem. B
