Hi , I AM ABOUT TO BUY A 308 BLOCK, THE NUMBERS ON IT ARE 12F9 & VT477. I ASSUME THE VT NUMBER IS COLOUR , BUT MAY BE WRONG.
I would like to know what model car this came out of or when it was built or anything that may help.

thanks

This is from a VB Commodore as the 12F9 refers to 12 June 1979. It should be a "Red" block.

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Is there an engine number on the block? It should be stamped on a small flat pad near the front left hand side of the block close to where the head would bolt on.
