Has anyone got or used one of these GPS things, I was thinking of buying one but want to hear reviews first. They have maps loaded into them with all red light and fixed location speed cameras listed, since its a GPS it knows where you are and when you get near a camera it warns you about it. It is also tells you how fast you are travelling (wicked after you have a diff conversion and taller tyres). And supposedly a speed alert like in a late commodore. http://uniden.com.au/WEB...2/OZ/p_gps301_index.asp have a look if you dont know what i am on about, If you have one are they any good ?

Thanx Jim,
Does the map have speed limit changes so the speed alert is automaticly adjusted ? or do you have to enter in the speed manually like the commodore ?

I have one of these. But mine is a Garmin street pilot model. To be honest, I would never drive without it now. Mine doesnt have the speed camera loctaions and stuff, which would be handy, but it can be used as a speedo and it would have to be the best

A mate of mine had one of these for a week to compare to his Road Angel. The Road Angel is much smarter and can sense which direction you are travelling and which side of the road the speed camera is on and only sets off the alarm when needed. The uniden

its legal for now because its not a radar detector. lots of new cars have gps fitted standard so its i bit hard to outlaw. you can plot any point on the gps you want and when you get near it it warns you. up to you if you want to be warned about fixed spe
