I am looking at buying a spray gun but am unsure of which type. HVLP (high volume low pressure gun) Are these any good for spraying cars or am I better of with a higher pressure gun gravity fed and nozzle sizes for spraying acrylic is 1.7 large enough or is 2.0mm needed for general paint and are these sizes capable of sraying putty?? Any info to enlighhten the subject will be greatful. Thanks in Advanced.

I Have a gravity gun . Has a 2mmm tip . Don't know what brand it is but I bought it from supercheap . It seems to spray enamel , acrylic & primer/surfacer pretty good , never put any sprayputty thru it so I don't know . The main advantage I have found , b

I have only started playing with acrylic in the past 2 months...I am a learner. I use 2x HVLP guns made by STAR. One is a gravity feed, with a small pot for touch up work. The suction gun with a 500ml pot for doing bigger panels. So far so good...it takes

It is far easier to spray roofs with a gravity gun....less chance of hitting the gun on the car roof. Distance from work should be approx one spread out hand span.

If you use a suction gun I`ve had good results from an IWATA 707 they cost around $149.00.

whatever you decide if you are planning to do a few paint jobs buy the best you can afford, i use Devilbiss guns mainly because spare parts are very easy and mostly interchangeable with other models. those $49 guns may end up in the bin just for a leaky

Thanks to everyone for the info and tips. I think i will go for the gravity feed gun and give it a go.

I use a spray gun about every 2 years I used a gravity one the last couple of times, was much easier than the old one I had.
