Hi, I own a VL and I was wondering is it legal to relocate the battery to the boot? If it is is their anything I should look out for (breaking the law wise) and if anyone has a guide for it? And what type of wire etc to use.

Many thanks in advance.

I agree with Rogo....welding cable is cheaper by the meter than "battery cable" from an auto store, and in my view better.
As Rogo said, get the heaviest duty available with good quality heavy duty connectors on the ends.
On my conversion I found it nec

Definately run the 2 earth straps. A lot of electrical problems start with poor earths.

I used an oxy to heat it then loaded it with solder. Finished it off with heat shrink tube.

The only other thing that has not been said is the box and battery must not be able to tip. Sounds obvious but have seen many done very well but the unit can tip over. I would go the rogo idea and solder rather than use a hammer as you wont have any grip
