Hi, I own a VL and I was wondering is it legal to relocate the battery to the boot? If it is is their anything I should look out for (breaking the law wise) and if anyone has a guide for it? And what type of wire etc to use.
Many thanks in advance.

Welding cable, the fattest stuff you can get with the most strands is the best. Very flexible and can handle some serious current. Got mine from BOC (formerly CIG) and the best earth you can make to the body with another lead from the body to the engine b

I agree with Rogo....welding cable is cheaper by the meter than "battery cable" from an auto store, and in my view better. As Rogo said, get the heaviest duty available with good quality heavy duty connectors on the ends. On my conversion I found it nec |

I used an oxy to heat it then loaded it with solder. Finished it off with heat shrink tube.

The only other thing that has not been said is the box and battery must not be able to tip. Sounds obvious but have seen many done very well but the unit can tip over. I would go the rogo idea and solder rather than use a hammer as you wont have any grip
