Well the XF/ZL falcon/fairlane had the efi 250 cross flow and they had around 122kw or maybe alittle more.

i am the proud owner of an 85 XF fairmont, carburettor fed, for two reasons; the carburettor engines (being webbers!) hardly ever go out of tune, and with a screwdriver and a knowledgable person (such as my dad) can be made to produce as much power ED XR6

Bigger engine capacity, more cylinders, less power? Doesnt
seem likely. A quick google search revealed that factory engines (253) are quoted between 90 to 138kw. Guess no one knows. Did it have torgue comparisons?

Ive owned both, there is no way a cross flow 250 will outperform a 253 without some form of modifications. Both motors produced about 120kw at some stage but the 250's short stroke seemed to make the cross flow a lazy motor (for lack of a better word) co

253 is a boat anchor,we actually had a few drags out of town and the xb beat the 253 everytime theres the comparison for you not a fairy tale out of a book.

One thing to remember, the XB's didn't run the Xflow motor which is a different arguement altogether. The xflows came out with around 100 hp where as some of the 253 came out with over 170hp.

100hp for a 250 crossflow must have had 2 plug leads pulled off it.an xb 250 pre crossflow had less power than the crossflow motor anyway.253 is still a gutless slug, nothing has changed.

Did a bit of research

Ford 250 xflow - 120kw/162hp
Hold 253 - 130kw/174 hp

To call the 253 a slug is a little unreasonable. Both motors have there pro's and cons but the 253 is still a good motor. You can't bin a motor based on an one experience

Show us facts, not opinions, to substantiate your argument and I'll agree but I know you won't because there arn't any to back you up.

These are all Ford people who don't live with the head in the clouds. If they said that the Mopar 440 was a powerhouse, should they leave the forum? About slurping your sausage, sorry mate, I'm not that way inclined but keep trying.
