anyone who thinks a 253 3 speed will hose off a 351 is the knob.

That depends. A 351 in a stock falcon or Fairlane etc is very cumbersome and slow off the line because they are a big motor to spin. 253 are a small v8 and spin easily, and could quite easily leave a 351 behind. Sometimes it may take the length of the q

Guys, just my personal opinion here. I had a 253 powered wb on gas and now after a few in betweens have a xf with 250 x-flow carby.

I just took the xf to sydney and back this weekend and as much as i love the interior feel and comfort it has over the w

i think the comparison that needs too happen here is to compare both motors in there stock form , neither in there day were a quick motor but both needed very little work to be made to go hard !! the 250 with a decent cam , extractors a/m manifold and hol

ian you must have had the fastest 253 in australia and possably the world cause a cortina with the work you stated would pull a low 14 high 13 sec 1/4 just like mine does.so if your 253 would have eaten it id say your 253 would have been good for a 12 sec
