VL Commodore coughing when taking off?

My mate has a VL and when he takes off or trys to get any power out of it, it just starts to cough and no power at all? whould this be because of cloged injectors or stuffed fuel pump or could it even be because of bad fuel? any idea's? Cheers Justin

There could be quite a few reasons for this Justin. Hvae a look at the computer codes (E-mail me if you don't know how and I'll send you some instructions) and we can get a better idea of the problem (assuming it is electrical in nature).
