just wondering if there is much point putting an air pod on a vl and if there is wot good does it do

Hi clint.
Pod type air filters are a waste of time & money.
Their main problem is that they pick up hot air from under the bonnet, where most factory EFI air boxes try to intake air from behind the grille area.
Hot air = less power !! Not a ver |

Dr terry is right , you hear people talk of cold air induction for better performance not hot air which is what a pod will give you , plus it wont be forced induction !

Not sure I'd want to just cut a larger hole in the airbox....I'd want to be very sure that it wouldn't allow water/stones/dust to any greater degree than original to enter the box. I'd be ducting the airflow from somewhere where it would be getting colder |

You just extend the existing the the full length of the airboxto allow more air ini was told the problem withthe factory setup is that the opening above the radiator is to narow and prevents the engine from breathing as good as it could |

I removed the tubing from air filter box at front of a VR (with the wee trumpet intake behind headlight and panel filter), and replaced with a K&N pod straight on the throttle body.
Yes the air is hot, rather than cold, but what I found was... a) engi |

I bought a GMH factory cold air induction set-up for my VS 2 statesman V6 (same system as the supercharged 6 )the setup included a new lower box with the opening twice that of the original plus intake etc. I found the car felt slightly more lively in the
