G'day All, I managed to score an HQ premier front end for the tonner on the weekend, but its in pieces in a box, what I need to know is, which lights go on the inside and which lights go on the outside, and the one with three prongs is that high/low beam or parking/main lights and is the other one a high beam or driving light? And if its High/low and driving lights, where do the parking lights go? I realise this is probably a stupid question but I've never had a twin headlight front before so I have no clue what to wire to what. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Russ.

If memory serves me correctly the parking lights on a HQ (and HJ-HZ non-ambulance 1-tonner) are a little globe in the wiring harness connector that attaches to the headlight (outer one on a Prem/Statesman). There should be a little clear circle on the bac |

The early HQ's (with the clear front indicator lenses) had the park lights in the indicators. When they changed the front indicator lenses to orange (early 73 from memory), the front park lights migrated to the outer headlights. The wiring plug for the he

Sorry, meant to say that, AFAIK, all sealed beam lights are the same wattage...about 40 watt low beam and 50 watt high beam from memory.
Also, the high/low headlight wiring plug from a late LJ or LX will be the same as late HQ, etc.
Cheers...Dave

and to add to all this the brackets that the headlights sit in are actually marked in the corners as each one is individual to the outer and inner to each side...believe it or not... |

Hi Greg,
Where exactly are they marked? I had quite a lot of trouble lining up the 4 headlights in the Qute after doing the Prem front/QH conversion...maybe I put them in the wrong holes?
Cheers...Dave
