Yeah very good point Byron, I recently heard about another forum currently in trouble for similar circumstances at the moment.

Hi all,

Like everyone here I would love bag the bums out there. However we cant.

Why not take a different approach. Maybe have a "best deal and good repairer" list. The good guys get the raps and the business, the bums will hopefully just wither fro

Maybe even just a feedback site like you find on the trader sites. Positive, negative and neutral with right of reply for the trader if they so desire. Anyone can put up a trader with their rating and a description of the experience. The trader can the

I dont wont to get shot down for this but I,ve got broard sholders. Not every tradie is a bad one ( and I'm sure that it wont apply to Bruce's case ) but you have to look from the other persons point of view. I ran a small company that would do odd jobs f

About 3 weeks ago, I put my VY SS ute into a Holden Dealer in Melbourne for its 50 thou service. When I booked it in, I asked them to replace the wiper blades with genuine ones (they were REALLY surprised

that really sucks qute...we get customers who don't realising what they are buying (cheap flat pack veneered fibreboard furniture made to look a million bucks, bit like a daewoo LOL) and occasionally they end up dissatisfied when they don't get solid oak/

yup scary, i once had a test drive of a recently imported s20 silvia, went for a run on the freeway etc then took it to my mechanic to have a look...can't remember exactly which ones, but some of the suspension/steering bolts had completely dissapeared :O

Forgetting to do up bolts is unforgivable.
It's one of the basic rules that applies to anyone who is a mechanic....if you install/attach (bolt up a part), you don't move on to another part until you have tightened the part you are working on.

When I was an apprentice mechanic Holden's current models included VH, JB & WB. The Commodore's invariably left the factory with the front cross member bolts loose & the Camira's often had the wheel bolts that loose that they weren't even touching the tap

I think they get around that by resetting the main odometer these days. Apparently, it can be reset to 0 K's if it hasn't gone over 100 K's...

Well, I dropped the ute off to the dealer for the third time in 3 weeks this morning and gave them a bit of a spray....

They rang me at about 3 pm to say the ute had come back from the tyre mob and it still wasn't quite right! They asked if it was OK f

oh yeah..a car audio or alarm installer does not need a trade, just a security licence for alarms.

i reckon a full auto elec certificate is a minimum to keep the customer confident of the workmanship

I'm not sure if it has changed recently, but a couple of years ago in WA, you didn't even need a Mechanic's Trade Certificate to work as a mechanic...

About 3 weeks ago I took the m22 in to a major gearbox mob in Brisbane because it was making some noises, didn't muck around just told them to rebuild it, $600 later i got it back fitted it into the ute and it kep

Mate, you should get some advice from consumer affairs or department of fair trading ASAP as you do have rights with regards to this.

I would make sure you get a 1100% refund from these dodgey repairers
