I know I've asked this question befor but still not quite clear on the differance. I have S111 stato 98 build withe HBD 185kw with all the add on stuff. I know the 195kw has sequential injection is this on all 8 injectors or just 2 lots of 4?(circuts seperated) Also roller lifters? And did the S111 have the 90L long rang fuel tank as standard? And yes there's more, the trip computer the base total fuel setting 75 liters but if its the normal tank then should I ajust it to 73 liters? As I've ajusted all the others settings as close as I can to useage. fuel used, trip distance etc.

Also dose anyone know where I can get all the info on the last produced 5l efi's and what was used in /on them as there seems to be so much added on to get rid of parts/ stock?

The 185kW engine is simply the HSV version of the 165kW. The 195i has sequential and roller cam. It is the HSV version of the 179kW. Unsure about the injectors and firing. |

The 179/195 has sequential injection - not sure if the injectors are paired up like on the V6 coil packs & squirt once per revolution, or if they are completely independant & each only aquirts once per 2 revs (in time for the valve opening). Either way, |

See this is where I start to get lost! So VS S11 & S111 had 165kw as standard then option of 185kw HBD which is all add on stuff but motor internals are the same. Then the last S111 had 175kw and 195kw. Did the 175kw have roller lifters or was it only the

VS1 had 165kw standard & 185kw HSV option. VS2 had 168kw standard (different airbox top) & 185kw HSV option. VS3 (early) had 168kw standard & 185kw HSV option. VS3 (later) had 179kw standard & 195kw HSV option.

Re-reading the posts again I'd say you'd be best off leaving it alone if you already have the 185 package - you can't go any further with factory "bolt on" parts.

While I am pretty ignorant on these particular motors i would say logic suggests that they do not have "wasted injection" like the "wasted spark" system. If the injector operated on all cylinders all the time you would have a lot of wasted fuel and as the

The fuel doesn't get into the cylinder as the inlet valve is closed for the exhaust stroke. The fuel is injected into the inlet port. This is no different to a carbied engine where an air/fuel mixture is sucked into the inlet port right up until the inlet |

As you can see it's not worth changing the ECU, the loom & cam & lifters etc, etc for the minor hp gain.

Thanks everyone for your input. i've got the 185kw HBD and plate attached. It has all the bolt on stuff (knock sensor etc) So like Dr Terry says its not and I'm not going to open a good motor just for 10kw gain. Thanks for all your info now I know whats w
