i know this may sound a stupid question, i know most of the basics about cars and mechanics, however i am only on my first car, and just wanted to know would putting a set of extractors on my xf without changing the exhaust system give it a diffent sound or make it ne louder??

sound like a 8 at low revs and smooth out to a flater sound at higher rpm

Will be louder in the car due to the "tinny" extractors versus the dampening effect of the cast iron. As extractors are really designed for scavenging the burnt gases using the pulses from the other cylinders, the noise factor isn't overly great out of th
