hey um mate of mines got a vc with 253 + trimatic the story goes she was driving along the freeway not doin any silly stuff when motor starts making a rattling sorta noise check it out shes got water in the oil. think its lucky enough to just be a head gasket? or something a bit deeper? guess theres only one way to find out but what do you guys think?

It maybe a valley or a timing cover. Head gaskets normally give you some signs before hand. The rattle can be lack of oil to the lifters when the oil emulsifies. But it will still mean a strip down to find out.
