ok... pulled her apart... not adjustable, does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop a rattle in the engine area that sounds like valve clearances. Or do i have an oil pressure problem?

Thanks for your time,

HiMojoinst.

This is common on VLs & other Jap motors.

No, they are not adjustable & that's not the problem anyway.

The problem is that the burnt oil deposits that are always found inside engines have found their way to the insides of the hydrauli
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

my VL suffers this, and I was also told by a mechanic it was a lifter, but he never mentioned a lifter cleaning additive. how soon between oil changes, and where can i get the additive?

on second thoughts, my engine has just over 300,000 km on it. maybe not such a good idea to 'clean' the engine out too much?
