Hey Mate.

Why do ya needa get rid of the old bench seat? I have a supra 5spd in my tonner and i have a standard bench in it too. It shouldent affect the gearshifting cause you should be tall enough to move the seat far enough back and still be able to

When I converted my old Commodore to a Celica 5 speed the gearshift was too far back. To rectify this I cut the gearstick below the chrome part, welded some flat bar that pointed forward to the stump & then welded the stick back on to the front of the bar

Check out a range of Supra boxes as some have the shifter right at the back of the box and some have them mounted quite a bit further forward. You should be able to find one that will allow you to keep the bench seat even if you do have to bend the stick
