I have a WB Stato dash in my HQ ute. I replaced both flasher cans (normal and hazard) with electronic versions as the old ones were not healthy. I'm still in the process of getting everything hooked up (almost there!) so the dash wiring is hanging down in the driver's footwell. When I use the indicators, either normally or as hazard lights, the indicators flash quite fast and at a variable rate but all indicators flash and are at normal brightness. Do the flasher cans have to be earthed (in a metal clip that is joined to the car body)? I always thought that electronic flasher cans flashed at a set rate no matter what.... Hi Dave, from what you have said if all globes are flashing then you might not have enough current draw through the flasher cans. In most cars when a globe blows the current drops and the flash rate becomes quicker to let the driver know that a globe has

My old 1993 Falcon had load resistors on the towbar connector. When the flap was shut the resistor wires were connected to the indicator sockets.
The basic idea was that the flasher cans (one for left & one for right both used for hazard I believe) |

Hi Jim,
I haven't looked at the indicators again yet, but it is possible that the previous owner put park-light (5 watt) globes in the indicators as I found the left tail/brake light had a single pole 21 watt globe in it after I bought the ute....The t
