Hello Everbody, I'm wondering what would be the maxium legal tyre size for 14'' rims I could put on a HQ Holden sedan with standard guards. Cheerio Owen.

State dependant. In NSW you can argue that you can use 8" rims as the HJ-WB has 7 inch as option/standard (15x7 in WB, 14x7 in HJ-HZ). a 265x50x14 will fit on an 8 inch rim, but these are too wide unless you get exact offset rims made and roll the rear gu |

on a 6" rim you can go to 225 in victoria.

I run 225/65s on 600JJ standard GTS rims and they dont look WRONG on the car. They fit just nice inside the guards. However a 225 on 600JJ GTS rim is iffy ! Sorry folks thats how they came !

factory HQ`s with GTS rims had a 195 tyre the widest I would recomend is a 215 on a 6 inch rim.

Thanks Guys, I have 4 x new 215/65/R14 94V and 4 x new 225/65/R14 96H I think I'll give the 225's a go and put the 215's away for latter. Owen.

70 ute, I have 7in on the front and 8in on the back on my van and when going through breatho`s and reg check I have never had any comment from the cops in SA , over here as long as the tyre/rim combo does not protrude outside the top lip of the guard the
