Hey guys,

Are there any Engineers here?

I've got a B.Eng and was wondering what the next step would be regarding a course on ADRs or whatever you need to be able to write Engineers Certificates.

Is it done through the RTA? or an Engineers Institute / Society. Can you write Engineers Certificates for your own vehicle? or is this a conflict of interest? (I'm not trying to be dodgey, I'd do it all properly)....

Are there any fixed costs of writing a cert? Yearly memberships or courses?

If anyone knew where to point me that'd be great! :-)

I'm an Electrical Engineer, and used to be able to do them as the only requirement was being a member of the Institute of Engineers. But that has changed now. Not sure what criteria is involved.

I beleive a tafe course is required (but maybe able to prove Recognition of Prior Learning for B.Eng) and you have to be an RTA accredited consulting engineer...so you would have to contact them but i would expect a lot of blank looks.

Much cheaper to

I personally think there would be a conflict of interest issue with writing your own Engineers report.

You can purchase a copy of the ADRS on CD for around $26 from the Dotars site mentioned above. This might help if you want to know more about the ADR
