I am looking to buy a HQ fuel guage, but not the standard type, I am after the unit that replaces the clock in the centre of the dash, as I want to run the "U16" dash option in my kingswood,(speedo, fuel guage & tacho) I know I can get the tri-guage, but that involves a bit of re wiring, where as the other only requires 2 wires swapped.. Hope someone can help...

P.S. No stupid ebay prices please..

thank's
Kevin

The clock that Kevin is referring to is shown in the HQ Parts book.

Yes Dave I have 2 or 3 of the clocks, but I was saying I haven't seen the fuel gauge that goes into the clock space in the centre of the fascia.
Not saying there isn't one just I haven't seen one.

Sorry, John, I typed clock when I meant gauge mate :-)

The Stato's could be had with a Speedo and Tacho in the 2 big gauge positions and a fuel gauge where the clock or a blanking plate normally sits.

I've never seen one either. A lot of that type o

Why would anyone take one of them when the stato came standard with full instrumentation? No accounting for taste.

The U16 option was avaliable for all models excluding the GTS, statesman & sandmans, there was a LS dash facia sold on ebay a few weeks ago that had the fuel guage I am after, but the asking price + postage on top was to excessive for my budget.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for that information about the FE/FC gauge cluster. It looked factory original. Very interesting that it is/was an aftermarket setup.

Cheers...Dave

Kev I have now had a vague feeling I may have one of these in my box of GTS and Statesman gauges. Just something stirred my memory. Will check out in a day or so but what sort of money are we looking at?
