does anyone know if it would cause problems to use a smaller shft dizzy from a more modern block in an older block with the slightly larger hole.cheers guys

From what I have been told it's not a good idea. It will cause the teeth to chew out as they won't mesh properly.

bad idea i think, since the oil pump is driven off the dizzy this puts a bit of load on the gear, if the shaft is not centered properly(coz its too small) the gear will push away from the cam, this will probably chew your dizzy gear and maybe the cam(if t
