Hi ive tryed searching but i can not seem to find a quoted engine kw or hp rateing for a blue 308 / 5ltr out of a 1984 wb statesman caprice! anyone know what it was ment to be please?

Something like 126kw springs to mind, as they were practically the same as a blue 308 in a commodore.

I have found 121kw quoted for them but this can not be correct ? thats less than a hx 308 ? i'm not sure if the 121kw was for rear wheel horse power ?

Just remember they did change the way power was measured, and the late 70s & 80s figures do seem a little low in comparison to earlier stuff.

The 308 Black motor in the VK was near identical to the blue, and it was definately (in stock form) rated at:

excellent page , very interesting reading ! its more appealing to me since i actually have the V5H version 308 with the b cast heads & brock manifold ! reading a bit more about it ,i'm now very pleased with my purchase ! thanks for ur link !
