I have a holden hd. It has a fully worked 186s. Roller rockers, ported and polished YT head. XU1 cam, steel crank, extractors, twin thermo fans, four barrel holly. Spent heaps of money and had heaps of problems. Has good power. My question is. What

Youll probably struggle to legitimately register a 350 in a HD, state dependant of course. You can cheat by using a 307 block with 350 crank and pistons though.

You'll probably struggle to legitimately register a 350 in a HD, state dependant of course. You can cheat by using a 307 block with 350 crank and pistons though.

buildup finaly under way, motor striped, cleaned and ready for paint. Head sent away to be shaved and have a massive port job and massive valves. Cam and lifters on their way. But im happy that i have finally started and making good progress, apart from d

I just bought an old eh ute it has 2500miles on it and i got it for 3000grand it has a 179 moter in it but i am looking for a 186s with a cilka box on it i would like to do the moter mildley but this means i have to cut a hole in the floor i would like to

The floor could always be rewelded up!! And with the trans(latter on?) in the way looking up from underneath, Many wouldnt now what once was there. I'd feel confident in doing it.

Your 179 can be bored to 186... And even further to 192 if you felt the need... I wouldnt ditch the 179 just yet as it is effectively a 186 with a more enclosed bore, plus you WILL have a steel crank which are strong and durable too.

interesting thread. last weekend i picked up a gtr dash from a guy who is doing up his LC torana. we got talking and he is a hemi fanatic. is putting in a 265 hemi into his LC and possibly mounting a turbo onto it. i bet that thing will honk. just adding

It would honk without a turbo. I actually have a GM 4/71 aluminium blower manifold for a Hemi. I bought it for nostalgic value as its handbuilt with a big 3" PSI guage on it, and has what appears to be exhaust valves and springs built into it for over-pre

Back in the 90s there where two guys that ran a Hemid six pac in a LC at Calder... If i recall correctly, street driven this thing use to pull 10s or damn close to it!

Burst valves on a Manifold, Damn thats some knowlageble backyard thinking.

now that really is hooting down the strip and f they where getting 10 i would love to see the times u could get with a fully worked enging and a supercharger outv the bonet

One of the nicest LCs i recall with a huffer pocking out the bonnet was one from Narracourt SA. from back in the 80s.. Mettalic Brown paint, Globe rims, 14x10s on the rear With Yokos. And a very detailed 179 with a WIAND Huffer sitting by its side.. Very
