I have a 1978 HZ 253 and want to upgrade the heads to ULP, is there a later head I can fit??? I still has the stromberg 2 barrel carb that I want to replace with a Holley 4 barrel and new inlet manifold.Any ideas on what to use??

There are a number to ways to do this:
1. VL heads and blue/black valley cover. The VL was the only carbied Holden V8 designed for ULP. The heads are flame hardened. Only problem is they are all big valve heads so your 253 will probably be breathless d |

Thanks for the advise Byron,
I like the sound of the VT Alloy heads, can I still use an aftermarket carb/inlet manifold set up or will I have to look at injection??
Are the alloy heads a simple bolt on affair or are mods required??

YT as in Yella Terra, not VT - these are cast iron. I think (but you better check) they make two types of alloy head and one of them allows you to keep the same cam and red motor valley. You mentioned it was a HZ and that it was a WW Stromberg hence obvio |
