Hello,
Just wondering if anyone could give any advice on getting this done. I have a WB Van with a new tailgate lock and the key is different to the ignition/doors. The ignition barrel needs replacing anyway as the key can be removed while the car is running. Are there specialist locksmiths around that will match one key for all locks? I'd get a new ignition barrel first before doing this obviously.

Also, the tailgate lock is a weird one. You can't unlock it and pull the key out, you can only pull the key out in the lock position, so what I've always done is unlocked it, turned the handle to open the gate and then pull the key back to lock and pull it out before lifting the top tailgate. Not such a bad thing as I know its always locked when its closed, but still wouldn't mind having the option of leaving it unlocked.

Any help much appreciated!
Rhys

Hi Rhys,

Long time no speak mate...

Any Locksmith worth his salt should be able to reset the tumblers in your locks so that one key works them all (with one proviso...they all need to use the same key blank).

Cheers...Dave

Definitley should be no probs for a locksmith that is in the Australian Locksmiths Assoc or whatever it is. They usually charge about $25 a lock to do. They should also be able to fix the problem in the ignition barrel by fitting new wafers and making new

Thanks for the info Dave and Peter - I'll have to take all the locks in and get them done. Always good having one key for everything!
I've got 2 NOS WB key blanks so I guess he can use these or the two new tailgate keys and make all the locks the same as

I have the same drama in my van, Rhys, one key for the front, one for the back (especially bad when mates want to open the back with the ign key and bend it unuseable @#%&!). However, I assumed that the ability to remove the ign keys while the eng runnin
