hi all am fiting driveing lights to a vz but when checking headlight wiring descoverd that 5 out of the 6 wires that go to the headlights are live when the headlights are off does any one know what wire does what. wired them up the same as you would a say hz and they will go on and of with hi beam but the come on when you switch of the headlights if the driving light switch is still on can not leave it like this as can flaten the batery (not my car driver dose not remenber to turn of the switch so nead to fix a.s.a.p can any one help me out what wire/colour thanks al Edited by user Saturday, 30 July 2005 9:17:10 PM(UTC)

I'm no auto eleccy, but the polarity is changed in some instances (like some alarms), when the ignition is turned off. EG: a negative when the ignition is on, becomes a positive when the ignition is turned off....therefore when ignition is off, the acces |

Hi, Taz2 is spot on. The HZ is what is known as "Active High", meaning when the wire goes "high", or "live", when whatever it is has to turn on. So as you know, you put the signal on one coil of a relay, with ground on the other, and it works sweet.
