As the heading sugests Im still in the hunt for a HQ U16 dash option fuel guage, this guage replaces the clock or blanking plate above the collomb & has the "HI-BEAM" indicator, i will take one dead or alive...

How can you tell if it is the series 1 or series 2 HQ gauge. I can tell the diff for the normal large gauge however have never seen one of these till I bought mine. I have a NOS one I bought from ebay years ago for my ute and have not fitted it yet. My ut

It's the same as the full sized guages, red/orange empty markings = magnetic & all white empty markings = Thermal, but from what I've been told the guage was not made in the later type as it was not a popular choice, I spoke to a local dealer who called t

Thanks thought as much. I checked mine and it thermal all white. Do you know if I change the sender in my tank to suit it?

Holdenon you have to match the colouring on your new gauge with the colouring on the old one or change the sender.

Thanks for the advice. I checked my ute an even though it is April 74 drop it has the all white gauge. I have changed gauges a few times over the years and put a new sender in about 4 years ago, finally tracked the proble to a rubbed through wire. Should
