Hi all just a quick question on rotti carbs, has anyone out their had a go at changing one from a auto to manual choke ( my be a strang question ) as some of you may know from the old forum that I have a Range Rover with a black 308 in and the auto choke is givving me the willies. Any help would be grate or I'll just pick up an old unit and start tinkering ( anyone got a cheap rotti for sale? ) Thanks in advance Jim.

Jim,

Not done it, but there is a pick in a Torana book I have got. It shows a bracket etc.

I first converted mine to a Holley electric actuation unit which was OK however still came on if the engine hot. I then converted this to a manual unit by fabricating a small connector (the screw unit from a 12v electric barrier strip) and used a

About 10 years ago I bought a kit to convert to manual choke. Probly still get them from a carby place somewhere. A plastic cap with a lever arm comming out the middle of it and a suport bracket off the coil clamp I think. Its all in the kit if you can ge
