I've currently got a blue 202 in a EH with a very whiny 3.55 diff coupled up to a 3 speed crashbox. I have just pulled the diff out of another EH I bought for parts, and am thinking of using the 2.78 diff out of it. There will be a M20 4 speed going in in the next month or so. Should I wait till I change boxes, or change diffs now, and what opinions of drivability with 2.78 with the crashbox.

Cheers.

I'm not sure of the first gear ratio in a crashbox, but I expect it will be close to the 6cyl all synchro, which is 3.74:1. If this is the case you will have a lot less problems with the 3-speed than you will with the M20 which has a 1st gear ratio of 3.0
