Has anybody put an additional petrol tank into an XF ute? It's an 88 model. There looks to be sufficient room under the floor. I'd be guessing that the second tank would need a filler and an extra fuel pump would feed into the main one on demand. I'd suppose the pump would be manually operated by a switch on the dash. WhatI need to know is: Do I need to reweld the filler neck onto the opposite side of the tank? I know I need to cut a hole into the body for the second filler cap. Can I hook up a second fuel guage? How?....

maybe you could mount it the other way around to use the existing filler? Feeding both tanks to a changeover valve like Landcruisers have would allow you to use the existing pump only. Using the sender in the new tank, install an aftermarket fuel guage |

you should be able to revese the tank & use 2 fillers aftermarket guage for 2nd tank and yes 2nd pump whould be simplest |

What about reversing the second tank, cutting a filler, using a 't' switch in the fuel line and an aftermarket, secondary guage? How would I wire up the second fuel pump? This way the tanks wouldn't have to be cut and joined.

why not go to a place where they build fuel tanks and query them they should know a way to go about it or u could get them to build one to fill the whole area under the floor thus not needing to figure out how to set up two tanks

Tickford (now FPV) fitted a second fuel tanks to the 'outback' utes in 1995 - 1998 XG, XH, XHII models. Maybe the parts are available from a ford dealer. There was only one filler, then a y piece to the 2 tanks. A valve & harness were fitted & a switch
