GTS,

You would need more than one can, mate ! Also the old colours are NO longer on the shelves. Even for a VL they can be had to find. You will have to either do it yourself, or get a shop to do it.

Also a can job is fine for touch up..but not for

There are companies out there that can tint spray cans to any colour for you but I don't know any details off hand.
Maybe try a google search or something.

Check around for a mobil painter, you may have to ask a few of the local smash repairs or paint shops, even historic car clubs may know of one. My old man got one to touch up the front of his Camaro in Brisbane so there has to be someone doing it in Sydne

I find it strange that you can't buy spray cans for your car's colour over the counter. I don't know what colour you've got, but I can buy spray cans in Deauville Blue for my HJ's and Marenello Red for my VH without a problem, I get them from Bursons or A

Knew a bloke years ago that sprayed his complete Datto 1600 using Duplicolor cans. Went through about 30 of them and the car still looked crap. Nothing better than getting something done properly. Do yourself a favour. Go to a half decent panel sh

Hi BLUHJ,

Just loved your reply...nearly p*ssed myself with laughter. Obviously your wording was more to the point than mine. ROFL.

A can is fine for a touchup. But a bonnet requires a compressor.

Also if anyone out there can find a tin of GMH

Just for the record, PAINTMOBILE in Preston (VIC) can and will make a pressure pack in ANY colour you have a paint code for, I just got some for the FJ! from the paint codes on the ID plate, these are no longer made (cant see Holts re-introducing them eit

Scotts Auto One in Penrith will mix any colour you can get a paint code for & put it in a spray can for you. Not sure how good a big job would come out but if you put the prep time in it will come out OK, maybe not as good as a bought job but pretty damn

Hi there VC,

This sounds very convenient. However, I must add that old clunkers like mine (and yours) MAY require a colour match. My local paint shop has a guy that comes around and truly matches your duco to the paint he mixes up. It works a treat !!!
