Hi,
Im currently fitting a VT 5L into a Rangie, its time to hook up the temp sender for the guage in the dash.
I can find where the Engine temp control sensor is on the front on the intake manifold, but where does the temp sender go?
Looking from the front of engine the ETC sensor is on the right (passanger side) to the left of it are two more lugs which havent been drilled or even had the faces machined.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Regards Rob

The VT uses the PCM to control the instruments, so there isn't a seperate one.
Simply drill & tap one of the spare bosses & fit a conventional one like they did to the VN-VS EFI 5L. |

Only that it has to go into the water jacket. If you can wait I can take a pic of a VS 5L in daylight & post it for you. |

Ive got a few days up my sleeve, I have to pull the motor back out to finish off the mods to the bellhousing because of the swaping of sides from the rover starter motor to holden one.
I would appreciate the pics!

OK, took a pic (what a nightmare to get to!) The blue plug (2 wires) is for the ECU/PCM. The green wire (black plug) is the temp sender for the gauge. Here's the pic: |

Hi Commodorenut, Thanks thats exactly what I wanted to see. So to the left of the sender will be a third boss that is un-used.
The fact on the VT it comes of the PCM is fine, although I cant figure which wire was used to connect to the guage on the da

Yes I think drilling & tapping it to suit the RR sender would be the best bet.
The speedo will be fun for you won't it? |

Not sure actually if its an issue at all. As far as im concerned it remains as is. The next issue will be the Vehical Speed Sensor input. I had the BCM deleted from the memcal and uped the KW to 195 whilst there. But I know Kalmaker have a piggyback VSS t

Hi Rob,
I know you are using a Holden 5L, but have a search through here and LS1.com.au. I'm sure the VSS signal frequency has been discussed on one ro the other.
Cheers...Dave
