The engine management light has started coming on after driving for a few minutes.
If I turn the engine off, then re-stert the car the light goes off, but goes on again after driving for a few minutes.
What's the go?????
Recently I changed the level 3 dash, but all wiring is intact and running the original dash circuit board.
Car does seem to get hot to touch on the rocker covers, but temp gauge is below 1/2.
Installed new thermostat, but makes no difference.
Radiator is in good condition, and running all shrouds.
Coolant system is correctly bled.
Also took out computer chip recently, but replaced again. Anyone have any ideas or had a similar experience?
Could water pump be on its way out???
Oil level is fine & I replace oil regularly.

Hi Taz2.

Could be any one of a dozen things.

Best way is to read the fault codes & go from there.

if you know how to do a self diagnosis it makes life easy.
it sounds like your O2 sensor as it takes a while to come on.
the self diagnosis codes etc are in the gregory's book, or you can find them online.
do a "google" for "Commodore codes" or "Delco

Hi Taz2

I don't have an answer for you either, but I find with these things you have to work through the symptoms systematically to find out what the real problem is, if any...

It sounds like the engine doesn't warm up before the light comes on - th

Actually I am a wrecker Andrew, so I have a smorgasborg of sensors at my disposal :-)

The fault codes come up with Mat sensor & speed sensor.
I've replaced the mat sensor.
Speed sensor I know what the problem is, and will fix it eventually (3.9:1 rat
