Hello,

My air conditioner hasn't been working for a while. YOu can hear the car change when you turn it on but no cold air. I thought it would just need re-gassing so during its service with holden dealer I asked them to look at it.

They told me that it needs a new compressor and with the astra's when you replace the compressor you also need to replace the receiver and something (can't remember the name). Cost for new parts - $1200 and cost for second hand parts (which they said they don't recommend) - $650.

What do you think? Does it sound right?

Thanks for your help

Thanks Dr Terry,

I am in Melbourne so it might be a bit far to come up and see you :)

It is a 99 model (CD version).

I might take it to an air conditioning place down the road. They have been recommended so hopefully they will have the same sug
