5L with a V0 prefix. Any ideas?????

He checked the engine number and was surprised to see a V0 prefix. He has never seen this before and i looked online and i cant seem to find any reference to it myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It could be a Victorian Police number - which are along the lines of V012345P Or it could be VG or VC mis-stamped by an engine rebuilder, or a simple mis-read of the letter stamping.
